G.I. Joes 200 at Portland International Raceway. Non-Stop, Heart Pounding,
Racing Action!....
Excitement will reign as the Champ Cars return to Portland International Raceway's
scenic 1.96 mile road course for the 20th time June 20-22, 2003.
Get YOUR heart racing as you experience the thrills, feel the speed and passion
as the drivers and state of the art machines of the Bridgestone presents the Champ
Car World Series powered by Ford. compete for the sweet smell of roses in the
victory circle.
Mark your calendar now, reserve your seats and get ready to share the heart-pounding
excitement that comes to the Pacific Northwest only once a year.
There's so much to see and do at Portland International Raceway you won't have
a dull moment!
Take your favorite seat...in a reserved grandstand, on a grassy slope, on top
of a motorhome or in a Pit Row Suite. Check out the action in the challenging
Festival Curves or take the free shuttle around the track and explore all the
varied vantage points.
Take a break from the track action and walk through the paddock area for a close
look at the fabulous men and machines that make up the 19-race Champ Car World
Series schedule. Explore the midway activities and souvenir booths and sample
a wide variety of food and beverages from the stands.

CHAMP CAR TRANSPORTER PARADE
12:00 noon - 1:00 p.m. Over a dozen of the multi-million dollar "haulers"
which transport the race cars and their support paddocks will parade through downtown
Portland on SW Broadway announcing the return of Champ Car Racing to the Rose
City. You won't want to miss this exciting, colorful spectacle!

PIT STOP CONTEST
12 noon - 1:00 p.m. Watch a Champ Car Racing Team in fast pit stop action.
Downtown Portland on SW Broadway between Salmon and Yamhill Street.
Bringing the excitement
of a racing pit stop demonstration to the downtown streets of Portland: the initial
acceleration as the car starts up, drives to the "pit lane" and stops,
the skill and precision of a team's performance in jumping over the concrete pit
wall to perform tire changes, the acceleration of the race car's re-start
all in downtown Portland.

MOTORSPORTS BREAKFAST
7:30 a.m.-9:00 a.m. The fourteenth annual fund-raiser for Columbia Pacific Council,
Boy Scouts of America will be held at the Lloyd Center Doubletree Hotel, Portland.
Honorees to be named include: Lifetime Achievement Award, "Motorsportsman of the
Year" Award and Rolla Vollstedt Award. Past honorees include Roger Penske, Bobby
Rahal, Mario Andretti, Al Unser, Jr., Jimmy Vasser and Paul Tracy. Tickets available

G.I. JOE'S 200 20TH BIRTHDAY PARTY
6:30p.m.-9:00p.m. The 20th Anniversary of the G.I. Joe's 200 is this year! We
will have a celebration at Fernando's Hideaway on First Avenue in Downtown Portland
on Friday evening. The event is free admission and will be open to the public.
There will be music entertainment by a local band, a live Mariachi band, salsa
lessons, great food, beverages, and even driver appearances. Please plan to stop
by and say hello to your Portland friends.

G.I. JOE'S 200 CELEBRATION AT PIAZZA ITALIA
8:00p.m.-11:00p.m. The
20th Anniversary of the G.I. Joe's 200 is this year! In honor of this year's race,
Piazza Italia is holding a G.I. Joe's 200 party. There will be live music and
the event will be open to the public. Piazza Italia will be open for business
serving food and drinks. Ferrari, Mazaratti, Vespa, Alpha Romeo, and Ducate car
clubs will be bringing cars to display at the event for everyone to view.
